William Junior Wyatt
1925-2007

William Junior Wyatt was born March 5, 1925 to William Leavitt Wyatt and Nona Goldsberry in Salt Lake City, UT.

They moved to Wellsville and later to Logan where he attended school. He graduated from Logan High in May 1943 and received his draft notice the same day. He enrolled in the U.S. Air Force and served as a radio operator. While stationed on Tinian Island, he flew 24 bombing missions over Japan. His stories of narrow experiences endured in the B-29 airplanes and their limited flying power make great fireside tales. His tour of duty ended in Nov 1945, at the end of the war.

He returned to Logan, attended Utah State University, graduating in May 1950. He married Joye Smith in the Idaho Falls Temple, 1946, from whom nine children were born; later divorced.

In 1951 he returned to the Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant, was stationed at Kessler AF Base, MS and later at Travis AF Base, CA where he flew and inspected B-36 airplanes. He retired as a Captain in the AF Reserve.

The family returned to Bountiful, UT to a home with two acres where they had a couple of cows, horses, chickens, and 80 fruit trees. It was a great place for a growing family.

He later entered real estate with United Homes and helped in construction of many homes and apartments in Utah.

He moved his family to Salt Lake City (1964) into a home with a large swimming pool. The family gave up the animals, took up recreation and fun times. He married Yavona Roper, they were parents of four children; later divorced. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel and a great knowledge of its principles.

He is survived by his children, Douglas, Sedona, AZ, Jill Logan, Todos Santos, MX, Todd (Dorothy), West Jordan, UT, LaMar (Barbara), Phoenix, AZ, Brent (Cindy), Temecula, CA, Brian (Natalie), West Jordan, UT, John (Erica), Castle Rock, CO, Amy Christensen (Chris), Tooele, UT, Jenifer, and William (Amy) both of Nampa, ID, Adam (Cheryl), South Jordan, UT.
