Funeral services for William Jenkins.Williams (Drummer Bill) 81, who died Wednesday night of a long illness in the Oneida hospital, were held at the Malad Third Ward L.D.S. Chapel Saturday with Bishop Lon W. Corbridge officiating.
The family prayer at the Funeral Home was by David G. Williams.
At the chapel the organ prelude and postlude were by Eunice Tovey; invocation, James B. Jones; obituary, D. LeRoy Thomas; vocal solo, William Petersen; speaker, Lawrence R. Budge; vocal duet, June Crowther and Norma Gleed; accompanist, Betty Crowther; benediction, Raymond Evans.
Concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with Lloyd Sorenson offering the dedicatory prayer.
Casket bearers were W. Dale Williams, John L. Williams, Melvin R. Williams, G. Ralph Williams. Thomas L. Williams, Verl G. Williams.
Services were directed by the Benson Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams was born Nov. 12, 1883, at Provo, Utah, a son of William and Sarah Jones Williams. He married LaVeda Williams April 25, 1917. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple March 20, 1930.
He received his education in the St. John and Pleasantview, Idaho, schools. He was an active member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include his widow, Malad; six sons and one daughter, Verl G. Williams, Malad; Melvin R, Williams, Pocatello; John L. Williams, Tremonton; Thomas L. Williams and W. Dale Williams, both of Cheyenne, Wyoming; G. Ralph Williams, Ogden; Mrs. Vahl (Mary) Mills, Buena Park, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. William (Zina) Petersen, Malad, and 27 grandchildren.
