WILLIAM D. THORPE

William D. Thorpe, 72, of Malad, Idaho died March 27, 1983 in the Oneida County Hospital.

He was born September 6, 1910 in Samaria, ID, the son of Wilford Memmott and Hannah Price Thorpe. He grew up and attended school in Samaria.

He married Wanda Hughes on January 16, 1930 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 2, 1966.

He was a life time resident of Malad Valley where he lived in Samaria, Pleasantview and in 1968 he and his wife moved to Malad. He farmed many years in Pleasantview and had also worked in construction with Hess Construction Co. During the years he was farming he was a chartered member of the Malad Valley Posse.

He is survived by his wife of Malad; one son, Douglas Delone Thorpe, Malad, ID; two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Gloria) Daniels, Malad, ID; and Mrs. H. Ray (Billie) Christensen, Salt Lake City, UT.
