EVANS, WILLIAM CARLOS A., March 29, 1900 – February 26, 1975
William Carlos A. Evans, age 74, died February 26, 1975 at his home of a heart attack. He was born March 29, 1900 in Malad City, a son of William J. and Eliza Adams Evans. He married Verna Bell June 20, 1928 at Malad, and they were later divorced.
Surviving are a son, Max C. Evans, New York City; two brothers, three sisters, Lynn A., Pocatello; Dale A., Mrs. Ray (Ann) Nelson, Mrs. George (Mary) Lewis, Malad City; Mrs. Herbert (Lavene) Bowlles, Weston.
Mr. Evans was a veteran of World War II
Funeral service was conducted Monday in the Malad Third LDS Ward Chapel with Counselor Gerald Thomas officiating.
Family prayer was offered by John E. Thomas; invocation, DeMar H. Smart, and benediction, Farrell G. Lewis. Speakers were LaMar Thomas, Bishop Hubert Gleed and Rene E. Schlehuber, who read the obituary, Vocal selections included a solo, Dr. G.K. Goodenough and duet, Lila Barnes and Dolores Bloxham, accompanists were Lyn Goodenough and Pearl Stuart, who also played the prelude and postlude music.
Bishop Lon Corbridge offered the dedicatory prayer at the Malad cemetery.
Flowers were carried by members of Malad Third Ward Relief Society, Ida Smith, president.
Casket bearers were Ralph A. Nelson, David Nelson, Kim Evans, Vernon Jones, Elden Evans and Cleve Harris.
Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
