William “Bill” Edward Evans

EVANS, WILLIAM EDWARD, October 15, 1891 – February 18, 1987

William “Bill” Edward Evans, 95, died February 18, 1987 in the Oneida County Hospital. He was born October 15, 1891 in Malad to David R. and Charlotte Parry Evans. He grew up and was educated in Malad where he was a lifetime resident. In 1906 he and his brother owned and operated a jewelry store.

He married Elizabeth Leah Chivers March 30, 1910 in Malad. She died January 3, 1983.

In 1917, he became manager of the Malad Valley Creamery, a business he operated until 1947. Since 1917, he had been referred to as “Creamery Bill”. He operated the Idaho State Liquor Store in Malad from 1947 – 1970 when he retired.

He was a member of the LDS Church, the Masons and was the last charter member of the FOE #2042.

He is survived by one son, Keith E. Evans, Malad; one daughter, Mrs. Ladore Steffens, Moscow; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two daughters, Wanda and Billie.

Funeral services will be February 21, 1987 in the Benson Horsley Funeral Home with Bishop Brent Evanson officiating. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
