Thomas Davis Evans, age 84, died July 28, 1969 at the Oneida County Hospital of natural causes.

He was born May 1, 1885 at Malad City, a son of Benjamin D. and Mary Jane Jones Evans. He married Jennie Mae Morgan June 7, 1907 in the Logan LDS Temple. Mrs. Evans died November 8, 1968.

Mr. Evans attended BYU Academy at Logan, was a farmer and real estate broker. Being active in the LDS Church, he served a mission in the Northern States, 1920-22; served as a member of the Seventies presidency; served on YMMIA stake board; Bishop of the Malad First Ward, 1923-31; served on Malad Stake high Council; Bishop of new Malad Third Ward, June 30, 1935-40; served again on the High Council; was a counselor in the stake High Priests quorum, 1949-57; member of Malad Lions Club and former Lion Club president. He liked fishing.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ezra Taft (Lucille) Pett, Parma, ID; Mrs. J. Moroni (June) Ward, Malad; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Heber J. Evans and Mrs. Edgar (Blodwin) Thorpe, both of Malad.
