Willard Dalton Facer

FACER, WILLARD DALTON, January 21, 1898 – June 7, 1964

Willard Dalton Facer, 66, Malad, died Sunday at the home of a son in Layton, UT, after a long illness. Born January 21, 1898, Willard, Box Elder County, UT to James A. and Rosetlla Dalton Facer. Married Lucy LaVon Williams, June 20, 1918 in the Logan LDS Temple. She died September 27, 1934.

Former resident of Cherry Creek, the operated a farm, trucking business, Malad police officer, past eight years.

Survivors: sons, daughters, Wallace N., Sherman, both of Layton, UT; Mrs. Ardell (Rula) Hatch, Wakonda, SD; Willard J., Ogden, UT; Mrs. Glen (Carol) Allen, Roy, UT; James A., Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Glen, Raymond, Mrs. Thelma Josephson, Howard, Mrs. Melba Lewis, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Leonard (Mabel) Clark, Frances, Mrs. Albert (Mary) Nielsen, all of Malad; Karl, Preston; Keith, Pocatello; Evan A., Ogden; Mrs. Byron (June) Bell, Grantsville, UT.

Funeral will be held Tuesday and the Malad Fourth LDS Ward Chapel. Burial in the Cherry Creek Cemetery.

Serving as an active member of the Malad Police force for the past eight years was Willard Dalton Facer, 66, who died early Sunday morning at the home of a son, Sherman Facer in Layton, UT, following a long illness.

Funeral services were conducted at the Malad Fourth LDS Ward Chapel Tuesday afternoon with Bishop Arthur Servoss officiating.

Mr. Facer was born January 21, 1898 at Willard, UT, a son of James Alma and Rosella Dalton Facer. He married Lucy LaVon Williams, June 20, 1918 in the Logan LDS Temple. She died September 27, 1934.

He was educated in the Samaria schools and was a member of the LDS Church. A former member of the Malad chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Mr. Facer lived in Cherry Creek until moving to Malad in 1941. He had been engaged in farming and trucking and was a member of the Malad Police Dept. for eight years.
