Former Malad Man Buried Here Monday

Funeral services for Wilford Russell Sheriff, 47, Helena, Montana and former Malad resident, who died Wednesday at Helena following a lingering illness, were conducted Monday in the Malad LDS Third Ward Chapel.

Royal Jensen of the Malad Third ward conducted the services. Prayer at the home was offered by Colen Sweeten Sr.; invocation, Josiah Price; benediction, Raymond Evans; dedication of the grave, Jesse Hughes. The speakers were J. L. Stocking, G. A. Stocking and Mr. Jensen who gave the obituary. Musical numbers consisted of vocal solos by Miss Karen Hartley, J. Guy Gleed and Melvin Atkinson, Mr. Atkinson played the prelude and postlude music.

Interment was in the Malad City Cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Sheriff was born at Malad March 7, 1906, a son of Leslie Thomas Sheriff and Rosezella Ann Stocking Sheriff. A member of the LDS Church, Mr. Sheriff was reared in Malad and educated at Malad and Salt Lake City. He was an electrician by trade. He was married to Evelyn Wright, December 24, 1931 in Salt Lake City.

Surviving are his widow; one son, Richard Russell Sheriff, Albany, Calif.; Leslie Thomas Sheriff, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Viola Denning, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Ione Cambelair, Oakland, Calif.; a step-mother, Chloe Sheriff, Salt Lake City.

Those from out of town attending the services were Horace Garn, Rockland, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Sheriff, Salt Lake City; Rulon Stocking, Clarence Draper, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Paul F.
