OGDEN-Jennie Adella Sessions Sorensen, age 93, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Saturday, October 7, 1995 at the Ogden regional Medical Center of causes incident to age.

She was born April 14, 1902, in Downey, Idaho, the third of nine children born to Perigreens and Jennie Engebretsen Sessions.

She was reared and educated in Idaho. Later moving to Odgen, Utah.

On August 30, 1940, she married Howard N. Sorensen in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Odgen LDS Temple. She was an active church member of the LDS Church, a visiting teacher and served in many positions.

She was a waitress for many years and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, B.P.O.E., Odgen #719. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and crocheting and shared her many talents with her friends and family. She loved to work in her flower garden and for many years cultivated a beautiful sight for everyone who traveled up Odgen Canyon to see. She loved caring for others and spent many long hours taking care of those in need.

She was a devoted Mother, who loved her family and grandchildren and always looked forward to seeing them and giving them a “treat”.

She is survived by a daughter, Afton (Doug) Andrews, Roy, Utah. A son, Jerry (Diane) Sorensen, Hooper, Utah. A stepdaughter, Mrs. Roger (Shirley) Wangerin, Salt lake City, Utah and a stepson, Stewart (Mary) Sorensen, Hooper, Utah. One brother, Blaine Sessions, Boise, Idaho; one sister Afton Gilbert, Odgen, Utah (formerly of Kenai, Alaska); 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. October 10, 1995 at Lindquists Odgen Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call the mortuary on Monday from 6-8 p.m. And on Tuesday one hour prior to services.

Interment at Odgen City Cemetery.
