DR. WESLEY H. EVANS

Dr. Wesley H. Evans, MD, 83, passed away May 6, 2005. He was born August 12, 1921 in Malad, Idaho. He was the son of Evan J. and Clara Bolingbroke Evans.

Dr. Evans is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lela “Dixie” Jones Evans of Stockton, California; his children, Dixie Evans of Stockton, California, Diane Gilliland (Bob) of Linden, California, and Craig Evans of Lodi, California. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Karen Evans, his parents, three sisters, Erma Forbess, Mary Palmer, and Jennie Alder, and three brothers, William Evans, Earl Evans and Chester Evans. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren. 2 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ilene Smalley of Long Beach, California, several nieces and nephews and his faithful buddy, Kody.

Dr. Evans was a graduate of the University of Utah Medical School. He completed his internship and surgical residency at San Joaquin General Hospital and practiced General Surgery in Stockton for over 35 years. He was a member of United States Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American College of Surgeons, California Medical Association, San Joaquin Medical Society, Stockton Golf and Country Club, Pacific Athletic Foundation, and the Famous “Wednesday” Tennis Group. Dr. Evans loved sports, especially tennis and basketball and was an avid fisherman.

Funeral Services were on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 North California Street, Stockton, California. Burial was at Park View Cemetery in Manteca, California.
