GRACE- Wayne Ernest Egbert, 75, of Grace, passed away Monday, November 27, 1995, at the Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs.

He was born on June 17, 1920 in a log cabin on the Malad Summit, the son of Charles Ernest and Jennie Isabel Smith Egbert. At the age of 6 he moved with his family to Grace, where he has since resided. He married Donna Pauline Fraser July 23, 1945 in Logan, Utah LDS temple.

He was educated in Grace schools graduating from Grace High School in 1938, and post-graduate courses in 1939. Wayne had lifelong activity in the LDS Church, serving as ward clerk, was on the high council, was 23 years stake clerk, in the Grace LDS Third Ward Bishopric, and the past six years as a temple worker in the Logan temple.

He was an active member and was serving as vice commander of the Albert Van Vleet Post of the American legion. He enjoyed music, singing, playing the bass fiddle and trombone, church work with his family, and especially his grandchildren. He served in the Army during World War II. He had been a rural mail carrier, retiring in 1983.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline, of Grace; three sons and three daughters and their spouses, Bradley Wayne and Bobbie Egbert, Louiseville, Ky., Leland F. and Linda Egbert, Kearns, Utah, Kerry Glen and Shari Egbert West point, Utah, Carol Lee and Deray Nelson Grace, Idaho, Jeann and Dwayne Hansen, Ogden, Utah. And Kim and Dave Arnold Logan, Utah; 25 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Mae Harwood, Pocatello, Idaho, and Bessie Allen, Blackfoot. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wallace, John Dariel, and Verlo.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Nov. 29, 1 p.m. In the Grace LDS Stake Center, with Bishop Wayne Alder officiating. Friends may call at the Allen-Sims Funeral home in Soda Springs on Wednesday evening, Nov. 29, from 7p.m. To 8 p.m. And on Thursday at the stake center from 11;30 a.m. Until 12:45 p.m. Burial will be at the Grace Cemetery, with military graveside services by the American legion post.
