Wallace Sperry, 79, of Malad, and husband of Elsie Lewis Sperry, died this morning, March 24, 1997 in the Oneida County Hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday March 27, at noon in the Malad LDS Second-fifth Ward Chapel.
Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad on Wednesday, March 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Wallace J. Sperry, 79, of Malad, passed away Monday, March 24, 1997 in the Oneida County Hospital.
He was born June 10, 1917 in Nephi, Utah, a son of John R. and Maud Carter Sperry.
He received his education at Juab High School and at the Brigham Young University vocational college, where he received a degree in interior decorating.
Wallace worked as an interior decorator in Tremonton, Utah and later was co-owner of Lewis-Sperry Ford in Malad. Following training at Fitzsimmons Hospital in Denver, Colo., he served as a medic in the 7th Division of the U.S. Army during World War 11 and was decorated with the Bronze Star for heroic action.
After the war he married Elsie Lewis on June 7, 1945 in Malad. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on July 8, 1960.
He was active in civic affairs, and had served on the Garland, Utah City Council. An active member of the LDS Church, he had served in many church positions, and was a high priest.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie, of Malad; one son, one daughter and their spouses: Craig and Laree Sperry of Malad, William and Marty Marriott of Springlake, Utah; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 1997 at noon in the Malad LDS Fifth Ward Chapel, located at 20 S. 100 W. with Bishop Steve Edwards officiating.
Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, on Wednesday, March 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.
