Wallace Milton Thomas, 15 June 1904

Wallace Milton Thomas, 92, of Pocatello, died at his home August 19, 1996. He was born June 15, 1904 in Malad, ID to Wallace Owens Thomas and Caroline Jones Thomas. He had lived in Pocatello since 1926.

On September 25, 1927 he married Millie Lorraine Lewis and they were sealed in the Logan, UT LDS Temple on May 1, 1933.

Milton began working as a switchman for the Union Pacific Railroad on October 3, 1927. He aws later promoted to yard master on August 5, 1936, and was the terminal superintendent for the southeastern Idaho division. He retired on July 2, 1969 after 42 years working for the railroad.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had held many callings. In 1987 he had purchased a computer and began doing genealogy and historical work for the church. Serving as historical specialist for the Pocatello LDS Central Stake was his last calling.

He is survived by his son, Richard R. Thomas (Donna), of Ogden, UT; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Lorraine Lewis Thomas.

Funeral services will be held August 23, 1996 in the LDS Chapel in Pocatello with Bishop Glen Thornock officiating. Interment will be in the Mountainview Cemetery.
