Wallace Dewey Nicholas, 55, died Sunday, August 6th in the Bannock Memorial Hospital at Pocatello.
He was born on December 8th, 1922 in Lehi, Utah, a son of Dewey W. and Relia Asher Nicholas.
He married Ruth Hess in 1952, in Elko, Nevada. They were later divorced.
He is a graduate of Malad High School and attended the University of Idaho. He was a lifetime member of the community and a member of the LDS Church. He worked in farming and as a bartender.
Survivors include two brothers: Ronald W. Nicholas, Pocatello; and Mark A. Nicholas, Minot, N.D.; two step-sisters, Mrs. Theda Hill, Mackay, Idaho; and Mrs. Delma Ruegsegger, Dillon, Mont.; one step-brother, Duane Morgan, Santa Barbara, California.
Funeral Services
Funeral services were held August 9th at the Benson Funeral Home, Malad, Bishop Eugene Edwards, officiating.
The family prayer was offered by Mark A. Nicholas and Patsy Bybee played prelude and postlude and accompaniment music.
Bishop James Madson gave the invocation and vocal numbers were sung by Helen E. Jones and Eldon Corbridge.
Elton Ashton gave the life sketch and remarks; Mark A. Nicholas, speaker; Bishop Edwards, remarks.
The benediction was given by Elmer Illum.
Concluding Rites
The concluding rites were held at the Malad City Cemetery where Dale Harrison offered the dedicatory prayer. Flower arrangements were taken care of by the St. John Relief Society, Rosalie Colton, president.
Casket bearers were Tommy Taylor, Ariel Jones, Dennis John, Ray Clark, Lorin Richards and Matthew Hill.
