Brigham City – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Vernal M. Larsen, 62, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 7, 1997, from an extended illness.
He was born on May 4, 1935 in Malad, Idaho, a son of Miles and Lillious Tanner Larsen.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958.
After returning from the Air Force, Vern met and married his sweetheart, Darlene Jones, on May 9, 1959, in Elko, Nevada.
He had worked at Thiokol for ten years and recently retired from Fresenius USA in Ogden.
Vern was an active and dedicated member of the Brigham City Elks Lodge #2208, and also belonged to the Brigham City Eagles #2919.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene, of Brigham City, three daughters: Sheila D. Larsen of Ogden, Utah; Kimberly (Seth) Pierce, and Diana K. Larsen, both of Brigham City; and seven grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters: Rosalie (Joe) Goddard of Boise, Idaho; and Darlene Helm of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Larry A. Larsen, all of Malad, Idaho.
Vern will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at the Meyers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, Utah.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Mortuary.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
