Fay Pamela Jensen Laney

LANEY, FAY J., April 1, 1915 – March 21, 2006

BRIGHAM CITY, UTAH – Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, Fay Pamela Jensen Laney, 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at her home incident to age.

She was born on April 1, 1915 in Brigham City, UT, a daughter of Ervin H. and Myrtle Elmira Jacobsen Jensen. She was born at home across the street from her grandparents, Hyrum S. and Pamela H. Jensen.

She honored and loved her parents and took care of them. She was a loving and compassionate care giver to any who needed her. Fay had lived in many places but her heart was always in Brigham City.

She married Elwood Eugene Laney on October 3, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on Jun 12, 1991.

Fay was a member of the Lakeview LDS Ward. Fay served as president of the Relief Society, teacher and visiting teacher for many years, Young Women’s counselor and teacher, Primary counselor and teacher. She was a counselor in the Relief Society at Pioneer Care Center, and also was an extraction worker in the Danish Language. Fay was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Oak Camp.

Fay had worked at American Sportswear, where she made many friends.

Fay loved spending time with her family. She always said, “What would I ever do without my kids.” She enjoyed attending the temple. Fay also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, embroidering, knitting, hemstitching, textile painting, bottling, gardening, reading and genealogy.

Surviving are her four children, George (Janice) Laney, Camas Valley, Oregon; Carol (Richard) Jensen, Brigham City, Utah; Ruth L. Huggins, Brigham City, Utah; Judy (Harold) Neese, Las Vegas, Nevada; 13 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Dorothy Buckley Jones and a special son-in-law, Max C. Huggins; three brothers, Erin H. Jensen, Jr., Brigham City, Utah; John Jensen, Farr West, Utah; Bob E. Jensen, Clarkston, Utah.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Daren W. Neese, John H. Laney, two great-grandchildren, Dana Marie Huggins, Jason Taylor Huggins, two sisters, Myrtle Marguerite Jensen Buckley, Nina Jensen Sydall and one brother, Wynn Jensen.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview LDS Ward Chapel, Brigham City, Utah. Interment was in the Brigham City Cemetery.
