VERA PRICE RODERICK

Funeral held Tues. for Vera Price Roderick, 68

Mrs. Vera Price Roderick, age 68 of Pleasantview, died Friday [October 8, 1976] in a Pocatello hospital.

She was born May 21, 1908 at Samaria to William M. and Ann Hamblin Price.

She married John J. Roderick May 15, 1929, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was a graduate of Malad High School and Albion State College. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in the MIA, was Relief Society president, teacher and for 17 years served as Relief Society secretary for the Pleasantview and Samaria Wards. She was secretary of the Malad Stake relief society and was a primary teacher.

She was a member of the Malad Square Dance Club.

She is survivied by her husband; son Jack, and daughter Mrs. Andrew R. (Patsy) Bybee, all of Pleasantview; eight grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters: William H. Price, Ogden; Earl H. Price, Puyallup, Wash.; Mrs. Wilbur (Ida) Sanderson, Nampa; Mrs. Nello (Katheryn)
Deschamps, Reseda, Calif.; Mrs. J.H. (Emma) Richards, Pocatello; Mrs. George (Betty) Thomas, Clearfield; and Mrs. Lester C. (Annie) Jones, Dillon, Mont.

Funeral Service

Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 12 in the Pleasantview LDS Chapel, with Bishop Merlin Bastian officiating.

Wilbur Sanderson offered the family prayer at the Benson Funeral Home.

At the Chapel, Bishop Roger Facer delivered the invocation. Remarks were given by Bishop Bastian, and Tracy Bybee gave the obituary and life sketch.

Speakers were Khalil Scott, Bishop Con Alder and President Myron Sorensen.

Vocal selection were sung by Foster Ipsen, Wynn John, Douglas Gibbs, Marlene John, Peggy Ricks and Jenkin Palmer. Iris Blaisdell played prelude and postlude music. Accompanists were Mrs. Blaisdell, Edna Bell and Myra Jean John.

Bishop Leo Brown delivered the benediction.

Concluding rites were held at the Pleasantview Cemetery where Andy Bybee offered the dedicatory prayer. Honorary bearers were Walt Jones, Walt Davis, Arthur Tew, Arthur Servoss, Arnold Bjorkman, Bill Jones and Charles Nielsen.

Relief Society and granddaughters were in charge of flowers.

Casket bearers were William H. Price, Earl H. Price, Chad Bybee, Joe May, Gregory Bybee and Roscoe Smith.
