Vera May Evans Burns

BOUNTIFUL – Vera May Evans Burns, 86, passed peacefully from this life July 9, 2006 after courageously enduring the effects of a muscle disease. She leaves behind a loving husband and family.

She was born December 31, 1919 in Malad, Idaho, daughter of Thomas A. and Davinah Atkinson Evans. She attended schools in Malad, Idaho. She married her sweetheart of nearly 68 years, Frank Dale Burns, September 1, 1938 in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple June 1, 1939.

She was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in various positions including Relief Society presidency. She was also a member of the Lady Lions for many years. Vera will be remembered for her remarkable flair and talent in decorating, gardening and cooking. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband and family, playing cards and traveling in their motor home.

Survived by husband; three children, Genie (Don) Mecham, West Bountiful, Ronald Frank (Cathy) Burns, Meadow, Utah, and Lana (Larry) Richardson, Fruit Heights; 12 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; one brother, Marion Evans, Malad, Idaho. Preceded in death by parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12th, 1 p.m. at the Bountiful 43rd Ward. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m., Russon Brothers Mortuary, and Wednesday 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
