DOWNEY-Veda Ann Barnes Wise, 90, of Downey, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 1995, in the Bannock Geriatric Center in Pocatello.

She was born March 11, 1905 in Ammon, Idaho, a daughter of Fred L. and Ida Ellen Bloxham Barnes.

She grew up and was educated in Woodland area near Downey. She married Velmar “Cecil” Wise on April 5, 1923 in Pocatello, and they made their home in Downey.

Mr. Wise died on April 12, 1994.

Mrs. Wise was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Don R. and Mardelle Wise of Clearfield, Utah, and Fred J. and Bonnie Wise of Pocatello; five daughters, Hazel Nielsen of Downey, Mrs Keith (Jean) Utley of Pocatello, Mrs Don(Darlene) Schlange, Mrs. Jerry (Arlene) Parris of Pocatello and Mrs. Jim (Connie) Christensen, Pocatello; 21 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dan Barnes of Downey; and one sister, Vinnie Moore.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, at 2p.m. In Downey LDS First Ward Chapel, with Bishop Lavern Brim officiating.

Friends may call at the church on Wednesday prior to services from noon to 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Downey City Cemetery.
