Vadis Parry Gilgen

GILGEN, VADIS PARRY

Vadis Parry Gilgen, 60, died March 9, 1980 in the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. She was born June 21, 1919 in Malad to George K. and Mary Jane Jones Parry. She grew up and was educated in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School. She later attended the University of Idaho, Southern Branch, for two years. She had worked for eight years as a secretary for International Harvester Co. in Malad, Idaho Falls and Salt Lake City.

On September 14, 1945 she married Hazen Elwood Gilgen in the Salt lake LDS Temple. They moved to Ogden where they lived for five years. She has since lived in Malad. She was a member of the LDS Church, had served as a Primary teacher, a Mutual teacher, Relief Society teacher, and secretary in the Ward Relief Society. She was a member of the Estrella Club.

She is survived by a son and two daughters, H. David Gilgen, Malad; Mrs. Rex (Kathy) Brown, Centerfield, UT; and Mrs. Tom (Georgia) Pett, Orem, UT; 11 grandchildren; a brother and four sisters: Thomas J. parry, Malad; Mrs. Earl (Ardelle) Thomas, Malad; Mrs. Keith (Sara) Moss, Fielding, UT; Mrs. Dan (Jeanine) Kent, Fielding, UT; Mrs. James (Norine) Kent, Spokane, WA.
