Urania Celeste Gertrude Petersen Craighead (Birth – July 31, 1900)

Urania Celeste Gertrude Petersen Craighead, age 77, of 322 W. 5th South, Brigham City, passed away at her home June 14, 1978 of natural causes.

Mrs. Craighead was born July 31, 1900 the daughter of Ander Chrisian and Laura Juliann Christena Fredericksen Petersen. She married William Henry Craighed August 9, 1919 in Logan, Utah. He died December 29, 1965. She lived in Holbrook and Spring Canyon before moving to Brigham City. She was a member of the LDS 2nd Ward in Brigham, worked with the Senior Citizens group in Brigham, a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge No. 53 in Ogden, and was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.

Surviving are five sons: LeRoy Henry Craighead, Robert Junior Craighead, Dean Sterling Craighead, Darwin LaVan Craighead, all of Brigham; Dennis Earl Craighead, Logan; four daughters: Mrs. LaMar (Marie) Larsen, Corinne; Mrs. Aubrey (Theola) Powell, Overton, Nevada; Mrs. M.J. (Maxine) Jeppeses, Brigham; 29 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Karen Marie Petersen Rice, Denver, Colorado.

Services were held Saturday, June 17 at 11 a.m. Brigham City LDS Second Ward. Funeral arrangements made by Olsen Funeral Home, Brigham City. Burial was in the Brigham City Cemetery.
