Services Held For Thomas Pierce

Funeral services for Thomas Pierce, 67, who died Sunday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rulon Jones, Magna, Utah, after a lingering illness were held Wednesday afternoon in the Malad First ward.

A farmer and stockman, Mr. Pierce was watermaster at St. John for 18 years, retiring last fall. He has been at his daughter’s home since Dec. 24, 1949.

Born at Willard, Utah, Oct. 20, 1882, a son of Thomas and Nettie Morgan Pierce. Mr. Pierce moved to St. John with his family while he was a child. He was married to Nellie James, January 17, 1905, in Malad.

Surviving are his widow; a son, and daughter, James Pierce, Malad, and Mrs. Rulon (Mildred) Jones, Magna; five grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters: Dave Pierce, Elko, Nevada; Evan Pierce, Terreton; John Pierce and Mrs. Kate Neilsen, Ogden; W. S. Pierce; Mrs. Margaret Camp and Mrs. Mary Thomas, Malad. A son and daughter preceded him in death.
