Services Held For Thomas N. Hill
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the St. John LDS chapel for Thomas N. Hill, 74, who died at this home in St. John Sunday following a long illness.
Bishop Melvin Yearsley officiated.
Harold Jones offered the prayer at the home and Arch Harris and Mitchell Deschamps, prayers at the chapel. Speakers were Bishop Yearsley, who read the obituary, Griff Jenkins and Don Noble, Jerkin Palmer sang a solo, and a ladies trio, Margaret Boam, Muriel Wilding and Mary Christensen, sang. Lyle Deschamps played the prelude and postlude music and accompanists were Margaret Laws and Cherrel Budge.
J. Guy Benson dedicated the grave.
Relatives and friends carried the flowers.
Casket bearers were John Hill, David Hill, Jr., Earl Evans, Mathew Hill, Warren Hill and Leslie Hill.
Benson Funeral Home directed the burial in the St. John Cemetery.
Thomas Nelson Hill was born at St. John Sept. 10, 1884, a son of Matthew and Catherine Nelson Hill. He married Helen Turner July 25, 1918, at Tremonton. He was a farmer and stockman.
Survivors include his widow; two sons and four daughters, Thomas Lyle, Moses Lake, Wash; Gerald V. Hill, Inglewood, Calif.; Mrs. Buford (Helen) McDaniel, Malad; Mrs. Alvin (Mildred) Walker, Mountain Home; Mrs. Victor (Bessie) Nelson, Clearfield; Mrs. Grant (Edna) Ekstrom, Pocatello; one sister, Mrs. John A. (Katie) Evans, Malad; 16 grandchildren.
