Thomas “Morgan” Budge

Budge, Morgan – 16 Nov 1913

On October 27, 1995, our dearly beloved husband and father, Thomas “Morgan” Budge, passed away at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

He was born November 16, 1913, at Malad, the son of Thomas Francis Budge and Winifred McKay Budge. He grew up and attended schools in Malad, where he graduated from Malad High School. He then continued at Utah State Agricultural College, where he graduated in May 31, 1942 with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering.

He married Ruth Dredge, August 18, 1936, and they were later divorced. He married Erlene Ricks Budge May 21 1976, at Pocatello. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 21, 1977. He worked as a civil engineer for the State of Idaho Department of highways for 34 years before his retirement. An active member of the LDS church, he served as ward clerk, bishop’s counselor, temple worker and in various other callings through out the years. He enjoyed carpentry work, fishing, nature, and being the neighborhood “Grandpa”.

Survivinging are his wife, Erlene Ricks Budge, Idaho Falls; five sons, Paul Budge, Mesa Az., Mark Budge, Bend, Ore.; Roger Budge, Boise, Id.; John Kunz, Napa, Id.; David Kunz, Phoneix, Az.; three daughters, Mrs. Terry (Judy) Robinson, Pocatello; Mrs. Warren (Elaine) Safford, Idaho Falls;Mrs. Larry (Joan) Soloman, Oklahoma City, Ok. Stepmother, Lurline Budge, Ione, Id.; two sisters, Donna Woodbury, Bountiful, Utah, Mrs. Jerry (Lou Jean) Kemp, North Salt Lake City, Utah; 33 grandchildren, and 17 grandchildren, and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 1 in Pocatello. Interment was in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello.
