Thomas Martin Swindle, (1948)

SWINDLE, THOMAS MARTIN – October 19, 1948 – January 7, 2003

Thomas Martin Swindle, 54, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at a local hospital.

He was born October 19, 1948 in Pleasantview, Idaho, to Gloma and Margaret (Isaacson) Swindle. He attended schools in Malad and graduated from Malad High School in 1967. As a young man he worked for Foster Ipsen as a farmhand in Malad. He then moved to Pocatello and attended Idaho State university for two years.

On September 19, 1969 he married Codie Lee Wells in Pocatello. They moved to Granger, Utah in 1969, where he worked for a year as a nurse’s aide at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden. In 1970 he began working for Shoppy Mechanical and remained there until 1979. They they returned to Pocatello where he worked for several mechanical companies until 1982, when he began at Atlas Mechanical and worked there until his untimely passing.

He loved to hunt, fish, golf, bowl and spend time at home with his wife of 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, Codie Lee Swindle, Pocatello; daughter, Dawn Stone, Chubbuck; son, Shawn Swindle, Pocatello; mother, Margaret, Malad; brothers and sisters, Richard Swindle, Malad; Joann Workings, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; Norvy Parrish, Denver, Colorado; Fred Swindle, Malad; and three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his father, Gloma Swindle.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at Colonial Funeral Chapel. The interment will follow the services at Mountain View Cemetery.
