Thomas D. Price, 87, dies after long illness

Thomas Daniels Price, age 87, of Ogden and a former Malad resident, died Aug. 16 in an Ogden nursing home of a long illness.

He was born August 13, 1888 in Malad, a son of Thomas Edwin and Jeanette M. Daniels Price.

He married Esther Boldwen Davis May 15, 1912 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Price died April 9, 1973.

He was a retired rancher and Union Pacific railroad mail clerk. Mr. Price moved to Ogden from Malad in 1944. He was an active member of the LDS Church, and was a former bushop’s [bishop’s] councelor[counselor] in the Woodruff Ward.

Survivors include two sons and three daughters: T. Glen Price, Malad; Ralph B. Price and Mrs. Charles (Gwen) Dezember, both Ogden; Mrs. Charles (Hulda) Tovey. Nampa; Mrs. Orville (Helen) Harris, Shoshone; 19 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Henry E. Price, Glendale, Calif.

The funeral was held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Malad Stake LDS Chapel with Bishop Donald S. Vaughan, Cherry Creek, officiating.

Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
