Thomas Alma Richards Dies Saturday

Thomas Alma Richards, 73, died at the home of his son, at St. John, December 14, [1929] following an illness of about six weeks. The immediate cause of his death was heart trouble.

Mr. Richards was born, August 20, 1856, the son of Thomas W. and Charlott Thomas Richards. Both his parents preceeded him in death a number of years. He married Elizabeth Chivers and to them seven children were born, four of whom survive him. Mrs. Richards died thirty-one years ago. Mr. Richards was a rancher and a member of the L. D. S. Church.

He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ishmael Smith of Ogden, Utah, James A. Richards, Malad, Idaho, Thomas Richards, William G. Richads Pocatello, Idaho. He also leaves to mourn his death the following brothers and sisters: William H., Parley M., George L., Jacob T., and Fred J., and Mrs. Fred E. Jones.

Funeral services were held, Tuesday at the Second Ward, Bishop H. J. Hanson presiding. Opening prayer was given by W. H. Thomas, and the following were speakers: Joseph M. Isaacson and D. P. Woodland. Appropriate musical numbers were beautifully rendered by the Service Glee Club, Margaret E. Jones, Katie Evans and Merl Reynolds. The grave was dedicated by D. Dredge Thomas, interment being made in the Malad cemetery.
