Sylvia Thomas Stratton, 87, formerly of Malad died November 3, 1983, in Murray.

Born January 1, 1896 in Malad, to David (D.M.) Morgan and Sarah Jane Williams Thomas. Married Robert Cole Stratton, August 19, 1922, in Malad, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died December 25, 1955. Active member of the LDS Church. Graduate of Malad High School. Attended Idaho State College in Pocatello. Bookkeeper and reporter for Idaho Enterprise Publishing Company in Malad. Was a charter member of the Ernest W. Jones Post, American Legion Auxiliary, where she was president and secretary.

Survivors son, Robert T. Stratton, Ogden; daughter, Mrs. Mace (Jean) Johnson, Murray; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Junior (Thyra C.) Taylor, Ogden; two brothers, W.W. Bill Thomas, Bountiful; David Thomas, West Valley City; preceded in death by a son, Herbert.

Funeral services were Monday, November 7 at 11 a.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State. Interment was in the Malad City Cemetery.
