Stanley Robert Oldland

OLDLAND, STANLEY ROBERT, November 3, 1929 – February 7, 2008

Stanley Robert Oldland, 78, of Malad, husband of Dorothy LaVon Gibbs Oldland, passed away on February 7, 2008 in Malad. He was born November 3, 1929 in Vancouver, WA, a son of Stanley Robert and Genevieve Mary Curtis Oldland. He was raised and educated in Oregon and Washington. He married Dorothy LaVon Gibbs on December 14, 1951 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Stanly served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Korea and Japan. He was a trained Electrical Technician and through the years he and his family lived in several parts of the states, as his work with the U.S. Government dictated. He and Dorothy moved to Malad in 2005, and they have since resided in Pleasantview.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in several callings through the years. Stanley enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the Golden Arrow Archery Club.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Pleasantview; a daughter, Levi Shannon, also of Pleasantview; a son, Ralph (Claudia) Oldland of Tooele, Utah; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held on February 12 in the Horsley Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Pleasantview Cemetery.
