OLLENBORGER, HANNAH MAE KENT NORRIS, November 12, 1912 – April 13, 2008

Mae passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of April 13, 2008. She had been in the Oak Valley Care Center in Oakdale, California for the past three years.

Mae lived in the Modesto-Oakdale area 59 years. Aunt Mae, as her nieces and nephews called her. She was born the same year the Titanic sank, and about two years before World War I.

She was the second child of Jesse James and Flossie Wilson Kent of Malad City, ID; the oldest of six children that lived to adulthood. Eventually she moved to California, and married twice. She was a waitress for many years. When told that she had reached the age of 95 years, she said, “I am not that old”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Nacey, Dawn and David Kent and her two sisters, Elva Hamilton and Leona Jorgensen. She leaves her only child, a daughter, Virginia Norris, and her many nephews and nieces to grieve, and also remember her fondly.

Graveside services were held May 26, 2008 at the St. John Cemetery, Malad City, ID.
