Shirlene Hill was born April 25, 1940, to Zephiniah and Della Gleed Hill in Malad, Idaho at her grandmother’s home. She grew up in St. John, Idaho, until age 5 with her 8 brothers and sisters, at which time she moved to Malad and attended school. She was baptized into the LDS Church.
Shirlene spent most of her grown-up years in Boise and Pocatello. When she was 17 years old she met Jeral Harris and they were married on May 10, 1057 in Winnemucca, Nev. During their 10 years of marriage they had four wonderful children. Dee Harris (Kathy) of Beaverton, Ore.; Curt Harris (Angie) of Las Vegas, Nev., Doug Harris (Linda) Layton, Utah; and Rhonda Harris-Chadwick (Darin) (Deceased).
She has 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who she cherished with all her heart. She has one surviving sister, Doris Rast of Pocatello. Shirlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Marie, granddaughter, Shantay Marie Chadwick, grandson, Curtis Jay Harris, along with the rest of her seven brothers and sisters and parents.
She loved her family and her dog, Sheva. She also loved working in her yard, fishing, playing cards and gambling. She was not only a great mother, but a great friend.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Dr. Gregson, the staff at Hill-crest Haven, Norma and Joanne, for their compassion, care and time spent with our precious Mom. By request of Shirlene, cremation will take place and services will follow at a later date at St. John Cemetery.
