Sheralyn Kay Knoblich, age 84, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Sherry was a current resident at Maple Springs Assisted Living and had been battling health issues and dementia. Sherry was born on July 16, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho at St. Anthony Mercy; the first daughter to Reed Tripp and Theda Gwen Tripp.

Sherry married Paul Steve Deffinger on July 27, 1962 in Pocatello, Idaho. They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho; literally. They built their first home on Nixon Street and in 1965 welcomed a daughter, Paula Michelle Deffinger and later Brad Reed Deffinger (1968) and Brian Paul Deffinger (1969). They later moved to Pocatello Idaho and made their home on Santa Anita, where they raised their children. Early in 1980 they were divorced.

Sherry enjoyed camping trips, motorcycle riding, playing cards and doing crafts. She was a scouting den mother and coached Little League flag football as well as helped coordinate Little League baseball at Eldridge NOP baseball park complex in Pocatello. She was on a women’s bowling league for many years, going to tournaments in the state.

Her eye for detail and creativity were key skills she took into her career at Associated Food Stores, Inc., which began in 1980 as clerk/receptionist and worked into advertising coordinator by 1989. Sherry enjoyed overseeing promotional activities, coordinating with sales representatives, buyers and manufacturers. She created advertisements, flyers, and coordinated planning meetings.

Sherry married Dale Henry Knoblich on September 27, 1986, combining their families with the addition of Denise Knoblich, Joe Knoblich and Stacie Gebo. They eventually made their home on Mountain Park in Chubbuck, Idaho. They brought Wooly (a poodle mix) into their lives when they picked him up as a stray, that no one ever claimed. Wooly became the loving dog companion and went with them almost everywhere. Many camping trips, riding on the 4-wheeler and in the car wherever they went.

Sherry continued to enjoy camping trips, riding the 4-wheeler, going on cruises and many trips to Jackpot, Nevada. Some of the most enjoyable memories were the car rides with her friends to and from the casinos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Knoblich, and her parents, Reed and Gwen Tripp.

She is survived by her three children: Michelle, Brad and Brian; her step-children: Denise, Joe and Stacie, along with 11 grandchildren: Andrew, Brittany, Whitney, Tiffany, Sullivan, Breesha, Malia, Masina, Maili, Jacob and Zach. Her sisters and brother: Marsha, Ann and Allen.
