Funeral Friday For Mrs. Richards

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Malad LDS Second Ward for Mrs. Sarah Ann Jenkins Richards, 76, who died at her home in Malad Jan. 32 [1950] after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Richards was born Sept. 5, 1874 at Malad, a daughter of Rosser Jenkins and Elizabeth Lavender Jenkins. She was married to George L. Richards March 10, 1892. Six sons and two daughters were born to them. Mr. and Mrs. Richards observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1942.

A member of the L.D.S. church, Mrs. Richards was active in church and civic organizations, serving as president of the Primary for three years, secretary of the Relief Society for 13 years, a member of the Idaho War Mothers and a member of the Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers.

Survivors include her husband and the following sons and daughters: George L., T. Clifford, both of Malad; Beth Orgill, Sweet Home, Oregon; Robert G., Richmond, California; Charles R., Merced, California; Vernal Gebring, Hood River, Oregon; Ralph J., Seattle, Washington; Waldo J., Portland, Oregon.
