SARA BELLE THOMAS DIES JUNE 9TH

SaraBelle Thomas, 82, Malad, died June 9, 1979 in the Oneida County Hospital after a long illness.

She was born Dec. 27, 1896 in Malad to John Roberts and Sara Owens Thomas. She married Henry Williams Thomas, May 1, 1918 in Malad. He died May 8, 1978. She grew up in Malad and has been a lifetime resident of the community. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a primary president and Relief Society president. She had been a visiting teacher and was a member of the Singing Mothers. She was also a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in 1927.

Survivors include two sons, Earl H. Thomas, Foster City, CA; and D. Blair Thomas, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and one brother and one sister, Chester Thomas and Mrs. Vera Hansen, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services were held at the Malad Forth Ward Chapel with Bishop Clarence Kent officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
