Services Tuesday For Portage Woman

Mrs. Sara Jane Thomas Hoskins, 68, of Portage, died Friday in the Dee Hospital in Ogden after an operation.

Mrs. Hoskins was born May 30, 1890, in Malad, a daughter of Reese W. and Elizabeth Wilkes Thomas. She was married to Leslie Hoskins on January 27, 1909, in Malad. They later received endowments in the LDS Logan Temple. The couple had lived in Portage since their marriage.

She was a member of the LDS Church and had been a teacher in relief Society and Primary. She was educated in Malad.

Surviving are her husband, Portage; four daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Othelia) Brown and Mrs. Ike (Theo) Jones, Pocatello; Mrs. Isabell Kinney, McCammon; Mrs. Ira (Dorothy) Romriell, San Francisco; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, Reese W. Thomas, Nampa; Mrs. Vivian Overton, Pocatello; Mrs. Mary John and Mrs. Ethel Evans, Malad.

G. Harris, Bishop Gibbs and Maurine Gibbs who gave a tribute to Mrs. Hoskins. Prayers consisted of the invocation, Afton Hoskins; benediction, Ora H. John, dedicatory prayer, Royal Halford. The Portage ward Relief Society was in charge of the flowers and the casket bearers were Albert T. Hoskins, Hyrum Hoskins, Isom Hoskins, Elijah Hoskins, Conley Hoskins and Seymour Hoskins.

Burial was in the Portage Cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
