Ruth Victoria Anderson Robbins, 74, of Stone, Idaho, died Wednesday, December 14, 1994, at McKay-Dee Hospital following an illness.

Ruth was born July 22, 1920, in Heyburn, Idaho a daughter of Lars and Thekla Stromburg Anderson. She was reared in Black Pine and Corinne, Utah.

She was married to H. Merlin Robbins August 25, 1938, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Merlin preceded her in death on April 7, 1980.

She lived all her married life in Stone, Idaho, where she helped her husband on the farm. They opened Robbins Grocery in 1950, which they ran along with the post office until his death in 1980, when Ruth took over the operation.

Ruth held many positions in the LDS Church, including Primary and Sunday school teacher. She loved to sing, and belonged to the ward choir. She served a mission in Dallas, Texas in 1985.

Her life centered around her family. She loved having them around for reunions, family parties or just afternoon visits. She was a friend to all she knew.

Survivors include eight sons and their wives, Thomas and Julia of Pocatello, John and Sondra of Dillon, Montana, David and Marlene of Salt lake City, Utah, Richard and Sue of Malad, Dale of Yuma, Arizona, Milton and Melanie of San Diego, California, Rex and Sarah of Malad, Alvin and Jayne of Stone; six daughters and their husbands, Marion and Carl Rhodes of Tremonton, Utah, Hazel and Glenn Jones of Malta, Helen and Bill Stratton of Pocatello, Eileen and Farrel Williams of Malad, Vicki Robbins of Roy, Utah, Mary Ann and David Reel of Stone; two brothers, Elmer Anderson of Snowville, Utah, and Arvid Anderson of Kearns, Utah; one sister, Thelma Higley, of Salt Lake City; 56 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin, two brothers, two sisters, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 1994, at 2 p.m. at the LDS Curlew Ward, Snowville, Utah, with Bishop Michael Morgan conducting. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, Idaho, on Dec. 18, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Monday at the church from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Snowville, Utah Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, Malad.

Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Monday at the church from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Snowville Cemetery.
