Ruth Dredge Budge Swanson, (1916)

SWANSON, RUTH DREDGE BUDGE – April 15, 1916 – June 24, 2003

PHOENIX, AZ. – With deep love and respect we announce the death, yet celebrate the life of Ruth Dredge Budge Swanson. She passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at 87 years of age.

Born on April 15, 1916, to Jesse H. and Nellie Kunz Dredge in Malad, Idaho, Ruth left behind a legacy of faith. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she dedicated her life to her family and the service others.

Ruth was one of 14 children.

She married Thomas Morgan Budge and bore three sons, Morgan Paul, Thomas Mark and Roger Keith. The last 29 years of her life were spent with her husband, merle E. Swanson, which gave her another son, Craig Swanson.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and son, Roger. She is survived by her husband, Merle and son Craig, her sons Paul and Mark, 17 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Ruth left a lasting impression upon those who loved her. Her life was n example of faith, hard work and prayer. Her posterity will always remember their wonderful “Nana” who delighted them with a sense of humor and made them feel special.

A viewing took place for family and friends on Friday, June 27, 1003, from 6-8 p.m. at the Alta Mesa LDS Ward Building at 5620 E. Adobe Rd. Funeral services will be held today, Saturday, June 28, 1003 at 10 a.m. with a viewing at 9 a.m. at the Alta Mesa LDS Ward Building, Phoenix, AZ. Graveside service will follow at Mariposa Gardens on Broadway and Power Road.
