Ruth Archibald Ipsen (Birth 14 Jul 1926/Death 17 Mar 1994)
Ruth Ipsen, of Malad, wife of Lyman Ipsen, died Thursday, March 17, 1994, in Ogden, Utah. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home of Malad. A complete obituary will appear in Sunday’s Idaho State Journal.
RUTH ARCHIBALD IPSEN
MALAD – Ruth Archibald Ipsen, 67, of Malad, died Thursday, March 17, 1994, in Salt Lake City following a long illness.
She was born July 14, 1926, in Ridgedale (Malad area), Idaho, a daughter of Albert S. and Nacy Idelia Tims Archibald. She grew up and attended school in Malad and was a 1944 graduate of Malad High School.
She married Lyman Junior Ipsen Dec. 6, 1994 in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had lived for many years in Pleasantview, where they ranched and raised cattle. They moved into Malad in 1989. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had served in many organizations through the years.
She was a past member of the Oneida CowBelles and also the Pleasantview Sewing Club.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Ipsen is survived by her husband of Malad; one son and his wife, Earl and Nadine Ipsen, Malad; one daughter and her husband, Ruth Anne and Bill Alleman of Washington. Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Archibald of Malad; six sisters, Ruby Waldron of Palmdale, Calif.; Jesse John of Samaria; Percilla Abbott of Malad; Katie Abbott of Malad; Sarah Perkins of Malad; and Leona Wakley of Downey. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12 noon in the St. John LDS Chapel, 308 W. 400 N., Malad. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery.
