Rose Williams Atkinson Welker, 97, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997 of causes incident to age.
She was born Dec. 15, 1889 in Samaria, Idaho, the daughter of Daniel M. and Lucy A. Thorpe Williams.
On July 2, 1919 she married Albert E. Atkinson in Malad, Idaho. He died Dec. 24, 1954. She later married Jacob Welker in Ogden. He died in 1972.
Mrs. Welker was a home-maker. Active in the LDS Church she had served as a Relief Society visiting teacher and temple worker.
She is survived by five daughters, Marjorie Tobias of Roy; LuJuana (Larry) Watson, Roy; Faye (Lew) Taylor, Farr West, LaNae Lemmon, Roy; and Dale Townsend, Riverdale. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Norman Bailey of Roy; 24 grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren and 49 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert E. Atkinson and Jacob Welker, one daughter, Dixie Bailey; two sisters, three brothers, three sons-in-law, three grandsons and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary of Roy, 5865 So. 1900 West. Friends may call at the mortuary from 8;45 to 10:45 a.m. Monday morning prior to the service.
Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park.
