Rodney Wayne Struhs, 69, of South Jordan, Utah, passed away on April 26, 2023, and was reunited with his wife Sandra, and oldest son Corey.

Rodney was born on June 20, 1953, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Wayne Struhs and Violet Morgan. Rodney had one younger brother Marlin, who grew up in Salt Lake City and Tremonton. Rodney spent a lot of time working on the family ranch with his stepfather Jerry Morgan and stepsiblings Brent, Al, and Mary. Rodney graduated from Bear River High School in 1971 and later earned an associate degree as an electrician.

On February 2, 1972, Rodney married his lifelong companion, Sandra Pincock. They were married for 47 years and had three sons: Corey, Patrick, and Jeffery. He was devoted to his family and spent most of his free time with Sandra working on hobbies or projects and watching movies or TV together. He enjoyed teaching his sons how to fix things, taking them on vacations, and playing games with them.

Rodney was extremely smart and had a talent for figuring out how things worked and fixing them. Rodney’s career started in mechanics and led to careers in computers and finance, working for Wheeler Machinery, Morton Thiokol, Citgo, Micron, and Morgan Stanley.

Rodney was a fun-loving person and could strike up a conversation with anybody, often telling jokes and stories. His hobbies included bowling, archery, computers, hunting, and gaming.

Rodney was a loving grandfather to Kylie, Ethan, Courtney, Allison, Dylan, Alex and Blake. He loved taking them on special birthday lunches and shopping trips. He also spent many hours attending his grandkids’ various activities. He enjoyed playing video, board and card games and telling tall tales with his kids and grandkids into the early morning hours.

Rodney was a fun loving, caring man who always put family first. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held in Malad, Idaho, at Horsley Funeral Home on May 2, 2023, with a viewing from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and a memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Malad City Cemetery.
