Robert Thalman, 78, died October 23, 1983 in an Ogden hospital.

He was born Oct. 24, 1904 in Sirnack, Switzerland, a son of Robert and Lena Harris Thalman. He married Mary Magdalene Lahman, Sept. 21, 1926 in the Logan LDS Temple.

He emigrated to Logan in 1906. He worked as a farmer. He had been active in the LDS Church, having served in the bishopric of the Logan 12th Ward, Sunday School president, high priest group leader, MIA president and in scouting.

Surviving are his wife of Young Ward; four sons and two daughters, Joseph Robert Thalman and Mrs. Billie Jo (Mary Lou) Kersey, both of Sunset; Richard DeLoy Thalman, Young Ward; John L. Thalman, Claremont, CA; Gary Lee Thalman, Smithfield; Mrs. Glen (Ruth) Israelsen, North Logan; 39 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Thalman, Rupert, ID. He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, a daughter and one son.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Young Ward LDS Chapel. Burial will be in the Taylorsville Cemetery.
