BOB THOMSON

Robert Evans Thomson, 81, 650 Wayne, and former Malad resident, died November 27, 1987 at his home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1906 in Pleasantview to George Ariston and Rose Evans Thomson. He grew up and was educated in Pleasantview and attended Malad High School.

He married Ethel Daniels Jan. 5, 1926 in Brigham City, UT. She died May 26, 1984. Following their marriage, they lived in Salt Lake for a short time.

He returned to Malad where he farmed, trucked grain and worked at a creamery. He also owned and operated a café in Malad. For 23 years he worked for the Idaho State Highway Dept., retiring in 1968.

He made his home in Pocatello since 1958.

He was a member of the LDS Church and held the office of elder.

He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elks Lodge and was a member of the Malad Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two sons, Doneal Thomson, Caldwell; Dennis George Thomson, Winnemucca, NV; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Sharlene) Williams, Meridian; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Ren Thomson, Malad; and Roy Thomson, Bountiful, UT; and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Ray (Margaret) Davis, Ontario, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be in the Malad Third Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
