Rhemo Isabell John Jensen, 13 March 1921

WASHINGTON TERRACE – Rhemo Isabell John Jensen, 81, died December 8, 2002 at her home of a brain tumor.

She was born March 13, 1921 in Cedar Hill, ID, the daughter of Moses Edward and Minnie Ashton John. She was the second of four sisters. At a young age, she moved to Woodruff, ID and Logan, UT, where she started school. She was raised in Malad, ID where she received her education in the Malad City Schools. As a young girl, Rhemo worked as a nurses’ aide in the Oneida County Hospital to help support herself through school. She also worked at other jobs such as a clerk in a variety store and in a nursery.

On October 14, 1940 she married Jerry Dale Jensen and they moved to McMinnville, OR to fone year and then moved to Ogden.

Rhemo was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for many years was active in the Relief Society. She also taught in the Primary. On October 12, 2002, just two days prior to their 62nd wedding anniversary, she and her husband went to the Ogden Temple and were sealed for time and eternity.

She worked for one year at Hill Air Force Base and later worked at the Internal Revenue Service until her retirement in March of 1985. She was a dedicated worker and received several awards.

Rhemo loved singing and sports. In high school she was active in both and played on the girls basketball team. She enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, always together with her husband as a team.

She was a past member of a women’s legislative group and the first PTA president of Roosevelt Elementary School in Washington Terrace.

Surviving are her husband of Washington Terrace; one son and two daughters, Dale (Billie Sue) Jensen, South Ogden; Linda Jensen, Glendale, AZ; Kathleen (Ron) Schulter, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Emma (Neil) Thorpe, St. John, ID; and Ludeen Rasso, Carrolton, TX.

Rhemo was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Velma Gray.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park.
