Maude Yearsley Jensen

MAUDE YEARSLEY JENSEN

Maude Yearsley Jensen, 101, passed away on November 1, 2012 in Tremonton, UT. Maude was born April 9, 1911 in Woodruff, ID to James Heber Yearsley and Rosa Janet Howell. She attended Woodruff Elementary until the 8th grade.

On June 24, 1931, Maude married Royal Baker Jensen in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in the New Canyon Area of Oneida County where they farmed and started their lives together. The family later moved to the Devil Creek area. Maude and Royal moved to Smithfield, UT after selling the farm, enjoying the close proximity to the Logan Temple where they spent many hours serving. She spent her final years in Tremonton.

Maude spent her life taking care of her family as a homemaker. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, quilter and a wonderful mother and teacher of seven children. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in the Relief Society, Sunday School and the Primary. She also did temple extraction work and spent many years attending the temple.

She is survived by Janet Jensen (Duane, deceased), Cecil Sweeten (Arlis, deceased), Larry (Linda) Jensen, Melba (Richard) Hill, Stanley (Catherine) Jensen, Stewart (Ardis) Jensen, Sheila (Lynn) Capener and one sister, Carma. She is also survived by 40 grandchildren and 116 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Maude is preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, three sisters, her husband, her son, Duane, daughter Arlis, and daughter-in-law Fredell, along with one granddaughter, Alison and two great grandchildren, Grace and Keanu.

The family would like to thank the staff of Our House for their wonderful care and kindness and Access Hospice for their constant, tender care.

Funeral services for Maude will be held November 10, 2012 in the Belmont LDS Church, Riverside, UT. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery.
