Retha Dukes Smith
Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Retha Dukes Smith, 87, passed away peacefully and left her mortal body on Friday, March 18, 2005.

She was born October 14, 1917, in Grahan, Florida, a daughter of Solomon David and Non Eva Dukes. She married Karl Maeser Smith, of Holbrook, Idaho, on June 29, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Retha was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held numerous callings throughout the years.

Retha loved her children. She was a great cook and hostess. She enjoyed sewing and singing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Maeser Smith and daughter, Kthleen S. Harding.

Surviving are five children: Ramona (Neal ) Hughes, Pleasant View, Utah; David (Nadean) Smith, Jerome, Idaho; Kent (Patsy) Smith, Holbrook, Idaho; Cherie (Mike) Malan, Ivan, Utah; Leisa Hummell; 18 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 22 in the Malad Third Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
