Raymond Henry Jones, 78, passed away from cancer on September 15, 1997 in Ogden, Utah. Ray was born in Cabool, Missouri on September 17, 1918 to Melvin Henry Jones and Lula McGeehee Jones.
He attended schools in St. John, Kansas and graduated from Dodge City High School. Ray joined the United States Air Force during World War 11, and was stationed at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, serving in Italy and Africa. Ray married Trilva Daniels Jones on December 7, 1945.
He was employed by Weber Central Dairy for seventeen years and the U.S. Postal Service for sixteen years. Ray enjoyed gardening, fishing, and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Trilva Daniels Jones and three children: Greg Raymond (Linda) Jones, Janet (Benny) Baggs, and Nadine (Chris) Jensen, all of Ogden, Utah. Ray had six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Gillette, Lindon, Illinois; and Phyllis (Bill) Lopp, Dodge City, Kansas. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Services will be held Thursday, September 18, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd. in Ogden, Utah. There will be a viewing Wednesday evening at Myers Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be at the Malad City, Idaho Cemetery with rites performed by the Malad American Legion.
