PETER BENJAMIN THOMAS

Peter Benjamin Thomas, 43, of Idaho Falls, died April 1, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center. He was born May 14, 1961, in Crescent City, California, to Errol Curtis Thomas and Ellen Sue Lincoln Thomas. He grew up and attended school in California until he was 10 years old then moved to Malad, Idaho, with his family where he graduated from Malad High School in 1979.

He attended Ricks College where he met Christine Marie Stoner. They were later married on August 6, 1983, in North Caldwell, New Jersey, where they lived until 1986. They returned to Malad, and later to Idaho Falls in 1990.

Peter was known for the love of his wife and kids, being a family man meant the work to him, and though he had only two children of his own, being so caring and with a heart of gold, there were many more he really cared about. He had a great sense of humor, was a wonderful cook and he enjoyed reading western novels and going hunting and fishing with his kids, brothers, father and friends.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also belonged to Modern Woodmen of America of Rock Island, Illinois.

Surviving are his wife, Christine Thomas, one son, Blake Thomas, and one daughter, Crystal Thomas, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; parents, Errol C. and Ellen Sue Thomas, Malad, Idaho; sisters, Jill (Dr. Christopher) Shields, Pocatello, Idaho, and Joy Bates, Arco, Idaho; brothers, James (Danielle) Thomas, and John Thomas, both of Malad, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother-in-law, Jack Bates.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Lance Toone of the Idaho Falls 20th Ward officiating.
