Nola Thomas, 89, of Otis Orchards, Wash., passed away Sunday, July 31, 1994.

Nola was born September 29, 1904, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Lewis Purser and Virginia Bigler Purser. She grew up and attended school in Trenton, Utah. She married Cyrus J. Waddoups on November 15, 1922, in Lewiston, Utah. The marriage was solemnized April 30, 1966, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Cyrus passed away November 4, 1964.

Nola married Daniel LeRoy Thomas August 13, 1966, in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Nola was a member of the LDS Church. She served in Primary, YWMIA and Junior Sunday School. She also was an officiator in the Logan temple for two years. In 1968 she and her husband, Roy, were called to serve a mission in the East-Central States.

Nola is survived by a daughter, Gwen Ruegsegger, Otis Orchards, Wash.; a stepson Gerald P. Thomas, Malad, Idaho; a stepdaughter, Joyce Elkington, Idaho Falls; nine grandchildren and 12 step-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Virginia Finch, Bethea, of Hemet, Calif.; and Bernice Andritsas, Inglewood, Calif. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorcas Butler, and two husbands, Cyrus Waddoups and Daniel LeRoy Thomas.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 5 at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home. Burial was in the Lewiston, Utah Cemetery.

Nola Purser Thomas, 89, former Malad resident, died Sunday, July 31, 1994, in Spokane, Wash. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday for one hour before the services. A complete obituary will appear in Wednesday’s Idaho State Journal.
