ORLANDO MORRIS

ARCO – Orlando G. “Shorty” Morris, 84, of Arco, died Sept. 30, 1992, at Lost Rivers Hospital Nursing Home after an extended illness.

He was born July 25, 1908, at Logan, Utah, to George and Annie Mitchell Morris.

On Jan. 8, 1934, he married Leora Ann Evans at Malad. He farmed and worked as a mechanic before moving to Arco in 1948. He and a cousin farmed on the desert near Arco. He later moved to town and worked at a grain elevator and for the city of Arco as a mainte­nance worker. He retired in May 1973, but remained active and served as caretaker of the Eastern Idaho Special Services Agency apartments from 1978 until 1991. His wife died in 1985.

Survivors include his children, Ken Morris of Boise, Jeannette Metheny of Mackay, Ron Morris of Pendleton, Ore., Ray Dell Morris of Shelley, Judy Watson of Orem, Utah, Glen Morris of Inkom, and Lori Beck of Arco; a sister, Mrs. Lorin (Annalyle) Richards of Malad; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great­grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Arco LDS Ward. Visitation will be tonight from 7:30 to 9 at Marvel Memorial Chapel in Arco and Saturday for
one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Arco.

The family suggests memorials to Lost Rivers Hospital Nursing Home in Arco.
