Ora Crump dies Friday at Living Center

Ora M. Loper Crump, 87, McCammon, died Friday, April 4, (1980) in the Malad Valley Living Center following an illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 8, at the McCammon LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Wayne Morris of the McCammon Second Ward officiating. Burial was in the Robin Cemetery.

She was born March 17, 1893, at Purvis, Miss., to John Floyd and Mary Saucier Loper. She was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and came to Utah with her parents when she was 7 years old. As a young girl she came to Idaho from Ogden, Utah, in a covered wagon with a girlfriend and her grandfather.

On Aug. 21, 1912, she married Merion James Crump in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Mrs. Crump was an active member of the Garden Creek Ward and had served in various capacitities (sp…capacities) including Relief Society teacher for over 40 years, and president of the YWMIA. She enjoyed flower gardening and handwork.
